WIRZ Anton Huber (Frau)
Frau Anton Hubert WIRZ, obtained a patent in 1925 for a “Neues Corsett”.
At the time Mrs WIRZ was the owner of the shop “Au corset élégant”, established in the early 1900s in Luxembourg-city. The shop was founded by Anton Hubert WIRZ and his partner ZEIG under the trade name “Maison au Corset élégant Wirtz & Zeig”.
In 1913 Anton Hubert WIRTZ (commerçant à Coblence) became the sole owner of the shop.
His wife, however, was the owner in early 1925 before Richard WIRZ became the registered owner in 1926. Richard WIRTZ took over the patent owned by Frau WIRZ in 1931.
The trade name remained unchanged “A.H. Wirz”.
The shop was first located in Pastorstrasse 5bis and later in Grand’rue 40, followed by Grand’rue 33.
In 1945, after WWII, Richard WIRZ’s industrial property titles (patent and trademark registration for Bebena) were retroactively seized “en raison de faits de guerre” by the State (Office des Séquestres); in 1945 they were transferred to Georges BUTTERBACH who had taken over the seized assets of “A.H. Wirz”.
