Wilwerdange

Hubert WERNER was the son of Johann WERNER (born in Basbellain) and Margaretha WAMPACH (born in Binsfeld). Margaretha was Johann’s second wife.
Hubert was born in 1882 in Wilwerdange; his father’s occupation was Schieferdecker. The latter became later an Ackerer in Wilwerdange. Johann WERNER had 14 children.
Hubert WERNER became a Schlosser and resided in Differdange and in Esch sur Alzette.
He constructed an aeroplane which he presented to the public in 1911, in Differdange, Luxembourg-city (Villa Louvigny) and Niederwiltz. He subsequently is reported as Autovermieter (1919) in Esch sur Alzette.
In 1924 he founded the company “Etablissement de recaoutchoutage et de vulcanisation moderne, par les procédés ‘Fit’, Lecuit et Werner. Société en nom collectif.” The company was dissolved already in 1925 and Hubert continued on his own as vulcanisateur.
In 1928 Hubert took over the “Brasserie Excelsior” in Esch sur Alzette and renamed it “Brasserie du Tigre”.
Around 1934 Hubert moved to Luxembourg-city.
In 1935, at the age of 53, Hubert married Maria UHRES in Luxembourg-city; his occupation was recorded as Industrieller.
It is not known when and where Hubert WERNER died. He had no children.
