TURMES Joseph

TURMES was born in Clervaux, son of a Handelsmann.
He became an installateur and around 1926 he founded the company “Jos. Turmes, spécialiste pour installations hygiéniques, Luxembourg”. He established his business in Luxembourg-city (rue Feldgen).
In 1927 TURMES took on Willy KOEPP as partner:

Die Gesellschaft hat zum Zweck, das auf den Namen “Jos. Turmes, spécialiste pour installations hygiéniques, Luxembourg” im Firmenregister eingetragene Heizungs- und Installationsgeschäft unter vorstehendem Namen gemeinschaftlich weiterzuführen mit dem Zusatz: “Turmes et Koepp, successeurs”.

The two partners set up showrooms in Luxembourg-city and in Clervaux and started an intensive advertising campaign for their products and services in the local press.
The TURMES & KOEPP firm, however, was declared bankrupt in 1931.
In 1932, respectively 1939, TURMES obtained two patents in the name of his wife Anne SEEL.
It has not been possible to trace TURMES’ professional activities in later years.
He obtained, however, two additional patents in 1945, respectively 1950. He gave his occupation as Techniker.
TURMES died in Luxembourg-city in 1978, at the age of 77.
