TONNAR Edouard
Edouard TONNAR was born in 1881 in Heisdorf/Steinsel. His father was a Baumschulenbesitzer.
In 1910 he married Walburga (Wally) SPOO in Esch sur Alzette. Edouard was a Kaufmann residing in Esch sur Alzette. Wally SPOO was the daughter of Mathias Caspar SPOO, Industrieller und Deputierter.
Edouard joined the SPOO company.
Mathias Caspar SPOO died in 1914 and TONNAR and Armand (b. 1866) and Frédéric Charles (b. 1871), two of the SPOO sons, took over the management of the family business.
The couple TONNAR-SPOO had three children. Wally SPOO, however, died in 1918 and Edouard married her younger sister Thecla in 1919.
The SPOO & Cie firm was dissolved in 1927 and Edouard TONNAR founded his own ironmonger business in Esch sur Alzette under the name TONNAR-SPOO.
In 1945 he transferred the business to his sons Fernand (b. 1910) and Maurice (b. 1916).
Edouard TONNAR died in 1956 in Esch sur Alzette.
