THONNARD-MARX Lily

Johanna Maria Elisabeth (Lily) MARX was born in 1901 in Dudelange. She was the daughter of Pierre MARX, Büro-Chef, who later advanced to fondé de pouvoirs à l’ARBED.
In 1921 she married Joseph THONNARD, born in 1895 in Dudelange, son of a pharmacien. Like his father, THONNARD had qualified as pharmacien in Nancy (FR) and had registered in 1916 as docteur en pharmacie with the Luxembourg authorities.
In 1926 the THONNARD-MARX couple resided in Luxembourg-city (rue Joseph II). There is no evidence that Joseph THONNARD managed a pharmacy. He was probably involved in manufacturing and selling of pharmaceutical and hygienic goods.
Lily THONNARD-MARX died in 1959 in Luxembourg.
