STIRN Henri

(1909 - 1974)
Moestroff

Heinrich Mathias STIRN was born in Moestroff/Bettendorf in 1909.
He called himself chimiste and later ingénieur-chimiste. It would appear that he started his professional career in Lyon.
In the early 1940s Henri STIRN must have returned to Luxembourg to set up his own company in Luxembourg-city (61 rue de Strasbourg). STIRN resided in 1942 in 35b Pasteurstrasse, Luxemburg-city.
In 1948 STIRN’s company went bankrupt, first through a procedure of concordat préventif de faillite, and in 1949 the Tribunal the commerce declared formally the faillite of STIRN’s company.
In 1950 the company’s assets were sold by public auction.
Finally, in 1957 STIRN was taken to Court for his personal debts (tax authority, insurance company, landlord) and he left the country for Belgium. He was declared: “sans domicile ni résidence connus”.
From his last patent dated 1959 it can be seen that he resided in Brussels.
Henri STIRN died in Ettelbruck in 1974. He had no family of his own.
