SAND Charles

Charles Constant SAND was born in 1838 in Luxembourg-city in house n°319 rue marché aux poissons. His father’s occupation was marchand tanneur.
In 1859 he married Catharina BARTHOLÉ in Bissen where she was born, daughter of a cultivateur. SAND’s occupation was recorded as commis auf dem Hüttenwerk zu Colmar.
In 1897, at the age of 59, SAND filed a patent application in the United Kingdom. (He did not apply for a corresponding patent in Luxembourg.)
In 1899 SAND’s name appeared in the local press when he bought the house on n° 10 boulevard de la Pétrusse. His occupation was chef d’expédition.
SAND died in Luxembourg-city in 1922, and his house on the boulevard de la Pétrusse was sold in a public auction. It would appear that he had no children.
