Heinrich POLLACK was of Polish origin, born in 1829. He was a mechanical engineer.
In 1863 Heinrich POLLACK and Albert Edwin SCHMIDT founded the company “Pollack, Schmidt & Co” which manufactured sewing machines in Hamburg. The company produced a popular home sewing machine named “La Silencieuse” (see Addendum).
POLLACK owned a number of patents mainly relating to sewing machines, obtained between 1863 and 1876.
Heinrich POLLACK died in Poland in 1905.
