PFEIFFER Jean Chrétien Nicolas
Jean Chrétien Nicolas PFEIFFER was born in 1828 in Clausen, son of a tailleur d’habits.
In 1852, when he married Susanna KOHN, his occupation was Handschuhschneider. His father Johann had become in the meantime Briefträger.
The couple PFEIFFER-KOHN settled in Clausen and had ten children. In 1855, when their third child was born, Jean Chrétien Nicolas had become Briefträger, following in his father’s footsteps.
In March 1869, when the ninth child was born, PFEIFFER was back in the profession of Handschuhschneider and had moved from Clausen to live in Bonnevoie where he worked in the glove factory Auguste Charles & Cie (who had taken over the “Manufacture de gants Lippmann” in 1861).
PFEIFFER died in 1897 in Luxembourg-city (31 Bahnhof Avenue).
