OFFERMANN Jean

Jean OFFERMANN was born in 1883 in Kaundorf/Mecher.
In 1907 he married Marie SCHROEDER of Reckange/Mersch. Jean resided in Reckange and his occupation was Wagner. He also acted as technical representative for the company “Cloos & Kraus” of Mersch.
The OFFERMANN-SCHROEDER couple settled initially in Lintgen where their 5 children were born between 1908 and 1916. In the late 1920s the family moved to Goebelsmühle from where OFFERMANN acted as “mécanicien, représentant de machines agricoles et industrielles”.
In 1935 Jean OFFERMANN sold his assets in Goebelsmühle and moved to Beringen/Mersch. His two eldest sons, Paul (b. 1910) and Antoine (b. 1915), became mechanics and established in Beringen the company “Atelier Hoffmann frères”. Jean OFFERMANN took part in the atelier managed by his two sons.
Jean OFFERMANN died in 1958 in Beringen.
