NICKTS Mathias
Mathias Nicolas NICKTS (Jr) was born in Bagnolet (Seine-Saint-Denis). His father Mathias NICKTS (Sr) was born in Troine (Clervaux) and his mother Elise SCHWIRTZ was born in Luxembourg-Hamm.
According to the Birth Registers of their 5 children, the NICKTS-SCHWIRTZ couple moved around quite a bit and father Mathias held several different jobs:
1882 Oekonom in Rumelange
1885 Gastwirth in Eschweiler/Wiltz
1887 Gastwirth in Remich
1893 charbonnier in Bagnolet/Seine-Saint-Denis
1896 Hüttenarbeiter in Dudelange
From the age of 3 Mathias NICKTS (Jr) thus grew up in Luxembourg.
In 1912 he passed the Reifeprüfung at the Industrie und Handelsschule in Esch sur Alzette and became an agent commercial.
In 1919 he founded with Emile DONDELINGER (industriel) a société en nom collectif by the name of “Société Imex E. Dondelinger et Cie.”, the object of the company being: l’importation et l’exportation de produits industriels et commerciaux de tous genres.
Two years later, in 1921, NICKTS married Theresa Wilhelmina CARUS, born in Krefeld (DE).
The marriage, however, broke apart around 1930 and the divorce was pronounced on 27 May 1935 upon the request of Thérèse CARUS who, by then, had moved to Brussels. In 1932 NICKTS was reported actuellement sans domicile ni résidence connus.
According to a local newspaper he resided in Antwerpen in 1931 and, according to his two French patents, he resided in the Département de la Seine (France) as of 1933.
It is not known when and where Mathias NICKTS died.
