METZDORF Joseph

Joseph (Peter) METZDORF, born in Berg/Betzdorf was the son of Nicolas METZDORF, Ackerer, and mayor of Betzdorf.
Joseph himself became an Ackerer in Berg and married Maria NEIERS from Trintange in 1905. The couple had 5 children, two of whom died at an early age.
On 26 April 1913 METZDORF and a partner founded the company “J. M. J. Gesellschaft Metzdorf & Cie, Kommanditgesellschaft mit Hauptsitz in Luxemburg, und Zweigniederlassung in Berlin” having as object:

Fabrikation von Massenartikeln, landwirtschaftlichen Maschinen und Geräten und alkoholfreier Getränke

On 23 June 1913, however, the company was already dissolved.
In 1914 Maria NEIERS applied and obtained Gütertrennung (separation of goods) from her husband.
METZDORF died in 1937 in Berg-sur-Syre, aged 61.
