MEIER Auguste

Auguste MEIER was born in Algrange (Lorraine) in 1889.
He came to work in the Differdange steelworks where he became contremaître.
In 1916 he married Marie Madeleine HAAG, born in Robertsau (Lorraine), but residing in Differdange. She was the daughter of a Schreiner.
In 1935 MEIER obtained Luxembourg citizenship.
During the NAZI occupation of Luxembourg in the early 1940s MEIER sympathised with the occupant and was taken to Court in 1945 by the Luxembourg State (see Addendum).
Auguste MEIER died in Niedercorn in 1971.
