Jacob Emil Albert MAYRISCH was born in 1862 in Luxembourg-Eich. He was the son of a medical doctor and studied engineering in Aachen.
He was married to Aline DE SAINT-HUBERT (1874 – 1947) and had 2 children, Jean (1899 – 1899) and Andrée (1901 – 1976).

In the period that he was director of the Dudelange foundry (1897-1911) he made an invention relating to blast furnaces which he patented in Luxembourg, France and the UK.
MAYRISCH died in 1928 in a car accident in France.
