LIMPACH Léon
Léon Charles Alexandre LIMPACH was born in 1904 in Diekirch. His father Charles LIMPACH was Staatsbergbau-Aufseher, a post which he held from 1889 to 1904 in Rumelange and subsequently up to 1907 in Diekirch.
Léon LIMPACH grew up in Luxembourg-city where he graduated from the Athénée in 1923. He took up engineering studies at the Ecole des Mines in Liège (BE), and later became a staff member of the technical high-school in Grenoble (FR).
In 1935 LIMPACH registered his own company in Luxembourg-city:
Léon Limpach, Luxembourg, avenue Monterey, 17, fabrication et vente d’appareils de T. S. F. et de matériel électrique (phonographe)
After WWII (1945) Léon LIMPACH joined the Luxembourg public administration and became Dienst-Chef am Zentralamt der Industrie-Versorgung.
There is evidence that by 1951 LIMPACH acted as independent supplier of technical equipment.
In later years LIMPACH must have joined the administration of the European Parliament which was set up in Luxembourg in 1958.
In 1968 his occupation was Direktor der Verwaltungsabteilung des Europaparlaments, a post from which he retired in 1969.
Léon LIMPACH died in 1972 in Luxembourg-city and was buried in Bascharage.
