LAZZERI Fortunato

(1861 - )
Capriana (IT)

Fortunato LAZZERI was born in 1861 in Capriana/Trento. He emigrated first to Vorarlberg/Austria and later resided in other countries, including Luxembourg.
LAZZERI presumably had a number of family members in Esch sur Alzette.
Valentino LAZZERI, born in Naples/Italy in 1853, married in Trento in 1879, came to Esch sur Alzette around 1883 and settled there with his family.
Valentino was possibly Fortunato’s brother.
According to the places of residences mentioned in the patents obtained by Fortunato LAZZERI, he lived in the following places:

1934 Belgium
1935-1936 Esch sur Alzette
1938 Capriana (Trento)
1939 Wien
1948 Luxembourg-city
1950 Rome
1952 Belgium

It is therefore not surprising that it is difficult, if not impossible, to retrace his professional career. His creative work was acknowleged in a French magazine in 1935 in the following terms:

The said workshops [Istituto di Cultura Di Brusselle] intend to exploit an invention of compatriot Fortunato Lazzeri, who after a long study, has made a further use of heavy oils in internal combustion engines. Through the application of the Lazzeri device and without modifications or transformations to the engine, a greater use of naphtha has been made possible. The results currently obtained are flattering and prove that the device, perfectly adjusted, as well as prolonging the life of the engine without reducing its potential, allows for fuel savings of more than 70 percent.

Fortunato LAZZERI lived at least until 1952.
