Manternach

Marcel LAMORT was born in 1885 in Manternach. He was the son of Eugène Jacques LAMORT who had taken over the Manternach paper plant from his uncle Jules LAMORT in 1868.
In 1900 Marcel LAMORT was reported to be pursuing studies in Paris. He became an engineer.
He applied for his first patent in 1906. Around 1910 he probably joined his brother Ernest LAMORT who had taken over the “Papeterie de Jeand’heurs”(Marne) from their uncle Maurice LAMORT.
In 1914 he married Marthe CHEYSSON in Paris and later became his brother’s technical associate in the paper plant; Ernest LAMORT was also co-inventor for a number of patents registered jointly by the brothers.
Marcel LAMORT obtained his last patent in 1956.
He resided with his family in Vitry-le-François (Marne) and died there in 1961.
