LAMOCK Henri François

Henri François LAMOCK was born in 1864 in Cons-la-Grandville near Longwy. He was the son of Heinrich LAMOCK (born 1834 in Hobscheid) Bahnmeister and Marie Josephine SCHMIT (born in 1835 in Colmar Berg).
The couple married in Reims in 1857 and moved to Paris where their first daughter Pauline was born in 1858. In 1861, when their second child was born, the family was back in Reims (Heinrich’s occupation was journalier) and when their third child, the inventor Henri François LAMOCK, was born in 1864, they resided near Longwy. Heinrich’s occupation was chef d’équipe au chemin de fer.
In 1884 the LAMOCKs resided in Bissen, father Heinrich’s occupation was Bahnwärter.
The inventor Henri François LAMOCK followed in his father’s footsteps by becoming Bahnmeister in Mondorf. He married Maria Franziska HOFFMANN in 1884, daughter of a farmer in Aspelt.

LAMOCK was an employee of a railway company and, at the same time, he acted as an entrepreneur by exploiting lime kilns (Kalköfen) and stone pits (Steingruben). He later acted as constructeur (1914).
Henri François LAMOCK died in Mersch in 1925.
