Henri JUNGERS was the son of Jean JUNGERS, born in Differdange, and Barbara JAMINET, born in Obercorn. Jean JUNGERS’s occupation was Schmied. The couple married in 1884 and moved to Epernay (FR) where they resided between 1885 and 1888 before returning to Obercorn/Differdange.
Henri Jungels was thus born in 1885 in Epernay and grew up in Luxembourg. He became a maréchal-ferrant.
In 1908 Henri married Louise LORANG who was born in 1874 in Seraing (BE), but resided in Differdange.
In 1917 Henri JUNGERS declared his professional activities in the commercial Register as “cafetier et maréchal-ferrant”. He ran a café in Parkstrasse 43/45 in Differdange. The local football club AS Differdange was founded in his café in 1921. In the late 1920s he was elected local counsellor.
Henri JUNGERS died in 1945 in Differdange. In his death announcement he is remembered as “Charels Hary”.
JUNGERS’ engagement for Differdange football was publicly recognised in 1958 when a new football ground was named after him and in 1977 when a street was named after him.
