JANSEN Emile
Emile (Karl Emil) JANSEN was born in Echternacherbrück (DE) in 1868.
His father Jacques JANSEN was born in 1820 in Liège. His mother Charlotte HOSP was born in 1834 in Simmern (DE). The couple settled first in Simmern (DE) where they had their first child in 1865 and by 1868 the family was living in Echternacherbrück.
Around 1871 Jacques JANSEN became Fabriks-Director in Ettelbruck and moved there with his family. Soon after, around 1874, the JANSENs moved to Kayl where their third child was born (a stillbirth).
Emile JANSEN thus grew up in Luxembourg. He joined the civil service.
His first job was commis des accises in Remich. In 1895 he married Celestine Marie HERMES, born in Remich.
At the end of 1895 the couple left Remich for Emile’s new assignment in Mondorf-les-Bains as receveur des contributions.
Celestine died in 1897, and in the same year Emile JANSEN became receveur in Wiltz. In 1902 he married Elisabeth BOHLER (b. 1881), daughter of a local doctor. They had a son, born in 1903.
JANSEN’s last assignment in 1912 was Bettembourg.
By 1923 he resided in Luxembourg-city (79 boulevard de Hollerich).
Emile JANSEN died in 1932 in Luxembourg-city.
