HIERTZ Guillaume
Friederich Wilhelm HIERTZ was born in Vianden in 1861. His father Jacob HIERTZ was a Baumeister/Entrepreneur.
Around 1885 Guillaume married Rosalie LAROCHE (born in Kédange/Moselle) with whom he had two children, born in Bettembourg. His occupation was Bahnmeister.
In 1897 Guillaume HIERTZ still resided in Bettembourg, his occupation was still chef de ligne.
An extrait d’huissier of August 1897 published in relation with his father’s succession stated: “… Guillaume Hiertz, chef de ligne, demeurant ci-devant à Bettembourg, aujourd’hui sans profession, domicile, ni résidence connus.
According to a newspaper report of 1907 he left Luxembourg for Germany and later Austria and Russia and came back in late 1906 to Luxembourg where he bought the “Merscher Dampfziegelei”.
In May 1909, however, HIERTZ was no longer associated with with Mersch factory.
In 1925 Guillaume HIERTZ probably resided in Trier but in his patent application he declared residence in Luxembourg.
He died in Trier in 1935.
