HEUERTZ Marcel

Johann Peter Felix Marcel HEUERTZ was born in 1904 in Echternach where his father Félix HEUERTZ was professor in the local Gymnasium.
In 1911 the family HEUERTZ moved to Luxembourg-city.
Marcel HEUERTZ passed the Reifeprüfung at the Athénée in Luxembourg-city in 1923 and undertook university studies, first in sciences naturelles (1924) and subsequently in philosophie (Strasbourg, July 1925).
In November 1925 HEUERTZ undertook physics and chemistry studies in Paris. In 1932 he obtained a Doktorat in Naturwissenschaften in Luxembourg.
He became professor at the Athénée and later director of the Musée d’histoire naturelle.
In 1938 Marcel married Thérèse FRÉGNAC (born 1907 in Roubaix).
Marcel HEUERTZ died in 1981 in Luxembourg-city (see obituary in Addendum).
