HAMEN Mathias
Mathias HAMEN was born in Diekirch in 1894. His father was an Arbeiter. In 1910 Mathias qualified as Maschinenschlosser at the Staatshandwerkerschule.
He worked in Eich (ARBED?) and by 1919, when he married Emilie NEMERS, his occupation was Betriebsleiter (in Eich).
In 1932, when he filed his first patent application, he used the job title of Giessereileiter (in Beggen).
HAMEN filed two additional patents of improvements of his first invention and subsequently obtained a corresponding patent in France in 1935.
His invention related to
Panzerplatten zur Armierung von Geldschränken, Tresorkammern u. dergl.”
In the same period, in which he obtained his patents, he registered two trademarks in Luxembourg for the products:
Gegenstände aus feuerbeständigem Gußeisen, respectively Panzerplatten für Geldschränke, Tresorkammern und dergleichen.
HAMEN possibly planned to launch his own business. No evidence, however, can be found for the existence of a commercial enterprise in his name.
HAMEN joined the NSDAP in WW II, and ended up being sentenced to two and a half years of reclusion in 1946, as former Betriebschef in Dommeldingen.
Mathias HAMEN died in 1973 in Luxembourg-city.
