GLAESENER Michel
Michel Désiré GLAESENER was the son of Jean Baptiste GLAESENER born in Berg (Colmar-Berg) in 1820.
Michel was born in 1857 in Berg.
His father’s occupation was Cassierer der königlichen Privat-Domäne and Bürgermeister in Berg up to around 1858 when he left Berg with his family for Châtillon (Virton) to set up a factory in Châtillon for manufacturing accumulateurs (secondary batteries), see Addendum. His occupation in 1859 became industriel.
Michel GLAESENER’s younger brother and co-inventor Georges, was born in Châtillon.
When Jean Baptiste GLAESENER Sr died in 1886, his three sons took over the management of the establishment.
Jean-Baptiste Jr, however, emigrated to the Belgian Congo in 1890 and left the company in the hands of Michel and Georges.
The company closed in 1903.
Michel GLAESENER was married and had three children. He died in 1954 in Ljubljana (Slovenia).
