GLAESENER Jean Baptiste

Jean Baptiste GLAESENER Jr was the son of Jean Baptiste GLAESENER Sr born in Berg (Colmar-Berg) in 1820. The latter was Cassierer der königlichen Privat-Domäne and Bürgermeister in Berg up to around 1858 when he left Berg with his family for Châtillon (Virton) to set up a factory in Châtillon for manufacturing accumulateurs (secondary batteries), see Addendum. His occupation in 1859 became industriel.
Jean Baptiste Jr was born in 1859 in Châtillon. He became ingénieur des ponts et chaussées.
When Jean Baptiste GLAESENER Sr died in 1886, his three sons Michel, Jean Baptiste and Georges took over the management of the establishment.
Jean-Baptiste Jr, however, emigrated to the Belgian Congo in 1890 and left the family company in the hands of Michel and Georges.
Jean Baptiste GLAESENER died in Congo in 1892.
