Echternach

Hippolyte George GENIN was born in Echternach, son of Jean François GENIN (b. 1780 in Weiler/Putscheid) and Catherine Thérèse DEFER (b. 1787 in Echternach).
His father’s occupation in Echternach was greffier du tribunal civil.
Hyppolite was the youngest of ten children, and trained to become a Lehrer.
He taught in the Berg primary school from 1853 to 1857, and then left the teaching profession.
In 1874 he set up as entrepreneur in Echternach and became fabricant en poteries de terres cuites.
It is not known when and where he died.
