Jean ENTENICH’s father Nicolas was born in Consthum in 1857.
Nicolas ENTENICH became Maschinenführer in Esch sur Alzette, and in 1881 married Hélène WIVENES (WIWENES, WIVENUS). She was a Hebamme (midwife) residing in Leudelange.
The couple settled in Leudelange and had seven children.
Nicolas successively declared the following occupations:
Maschinenführer (1882), Handarbeiter (1884), Taglöhner (1890), Eisenbahnarbeiter (1900), Ackerer (1915).
Jean ENTENICH, born in 1884, was the oldest son and became an Eisenbahnarbeiter and later a farmer (see Addendum).
In the mid-1920s ENTENICH came up with a project for large-scale farming in Leudelange, including developing new machinery for this purpose.
He took up credit for pursuing his project, which must failed, since some of his basic assets were sold by auction in 1934.
In later years he developed a number of concepts such as teeth implants (1939), compressor-turbine engines (1946), school building design for Leudelange (1952), and later he promoted the use of his novel engines for tractors, locomotives, airplanes, ships, submarines, motorbikes etc. (1953-1957).
He obtained his last patent in 1957 at the age of 73.
Jean ENTENICH died in 1959 in Luxembourg-city. He had remained single.
