DITSCH Véra

Veronica (Véra) DITSCH was born in 1920 in Hobscheid. She was the daughter of Jean DITSCH (Metzger), born in Luxembourg-city, and Virginie THILL, born in Hobscheid. Both parents actually resided in Luxembourg-city and Virginie gave birth to Véra while “vorübergehend wohnend in Hobscheid”, probably in her parents’ home.
In 1929 Jean DITSCH opened a Metzgerei in Luxembourg-Clausen.
By 1938 Jean and his wife Virginie had taken over the Cafe “Maison Rouge” in Limpertsberg, which they ran under the name of Café J. DITSCH-THILL (Gaststätte Zum Roten Haus during the Nazi occupation).
In 1944 Véra DITSCH married Oscar MINN.
Her parents still ran the “Maison Rouge” in 43 Allée Scheffer.
Jean THILL died in 1955 and Véra DITSCH took over the “Maison Rouge” in 1956.
Véra DITSCH died in 1992 in Luxembourg-city.
