DENIS Michel Alexandre
DENIS Michel Alexandre was born in 1852 in Luxembourg-city (239 Genister-Gasse). His father was a Tischler. Like his father, Denis became a Schreiner/Tischler.
In 1875 he married Anna PEPPINGER, the daughter of a Tabakspinner. The couple took up residence in the centre of Luxembourg-city (16 rue Louvigny).
Around 1880 DENIS became maître menusier attaché à l’administration des prisons and forthwith resided in the premises of the prison (Münsterstrasse).
Around 1890 the DENIS-PEPPINGER family moved to a new address: 2 Thionviller Strasse.
As of 1894 DENIS carried the title of contre-maître aux prisons.
In 1920 he was awarded the médaille en argent de l’ordre de la Couronne de chêne. When he filed his third and last patent application in 1922, he resided in 4 Grabenstrasse (rue du Fossé).
DENIS Michel Alexandre died in 1926 in Luxembourg-city; his death announcement refered to him as gardien-contremaître des prisons en retraite.
