DE LA FONTAINE Jean Marie

Jean Marie (Charles Léon Raymond) DE LA FONTAINE was the son of Théodore DE LA FONTAINE and Juliette CAŸTAN. Théodore’s occupation was ingénieur/propriétaire. He was a member of the Chambre des Députés from 1896 to 1902. He also was a nephew of Edmond DE LA FONTAINE (alias Dicks), and thus a descendant of Théodore Ignace DE LA FONTAINE (1787 – 1871).
Jean Marie became an industriel and in 1930 he acquired the “Villa Mont Fleuri” in Mondorf-les-Bains. At about the same time he married Barbara Lucie JUNGBLUT, born in 1906 in Verlorenkost/Hollerich, daughter of a Mechaniker. The couple settled in Mondorf-les-Bains.

In 1955 he took on the presidency of the Société protectrice des animaux.
Jean Marie DE LA FONTAINE died in 1970 and his wife Barbara JUNGBLUT died in 1993, both in Mondorf-les-Bains. It would appear that the couple had no children.
