COURBAIN Lucien
Lucien Hubert COURBAIN was born in Barbençon (Belgium) in 1855. His father Hubert was a marbrier.
Lucien trained to become himself a marbrier.
He married Emma Laura WYHIER in Strasbourg in 1882. The couple’s first child was born in Strasbourg in 1882 and two more were born in 1884 and 1885 in Langerfeld (Rheinland).
According to the Luxembourg-city Census of 1895 COURBAIN came to Luxembourg in late 1885 to set up his own atelier in Luxembourg-Gare (3 rue de Bonnevoie). In 1893 he transferred his atelier to 20 rue Neyperg, where he installed a steam engine.
He was joined by his father Hubert.
In April 1889 his father Hubert died and, later in the year, Lucien’s fourth child was born in Luxembourg.
It is not known when COURBAIN left Luxembourg, first for Brussels (around 1910?) and later for France where he resided in the Département Seine (around 1925?).
COURBAIN died in 1929 in Bruges.
